Finally out after 4 weeks.

I hadn’t been out prospecting for about 4 weeks and I was eager to get out. I packed the car yesterday and checked the weather last night at 9:00, and it was going to be O.K. I certainly wasn’t expecting it to be as glorious as it turned out. I ended up with 2 small pieces.

The first one didn’t take long to get but only weighed 0.06 gram.

The second one was a real mongrel. It was a definite signal for quite a while and then at times it disappeared and came back. I switched back into Difficult mode to check whether it was mineralization and it was doing the same thing. It appeared to be in the middle of the hole but it was a case of now you hear it now you don’t. I widened the hole on 3 sides before finally widening it on the fourth side and it was out but rather soft. I eventually located it and after a bit of cleaning it finally showed gold. It weighed in at about 0.32 gram.
So I had a pretty good day out.

Regards Axtyr.

About the closest I can get to home is one and a half hours in light traffic. This was out at Talbot, about a 2 hour drive. I haven't been there for a number of years now and I found a number of small pieces as specimens there. The last 2 times here I didn't find anything and when I arrived there yesterday there were a number of dig holes close by. I wasn't expecting to find anything, more hoping. This is the largest piece at this small spot.

I remember those days, already being behind when you get to the gold fields cus you had to pay for gas. That's why i bought my land where I did, in the gold fields, I can walk to work. :)
