It was a glorious day in Castlemaine today. It started off chilly but that didn’t last long. It took a while to get the one and only piece for the day. I got the signal and scraped the leaf litter away with my foot and it had moved. The only reason I investigated further was in case it was a rock containing gold.

I pushed the leaf litter away again and there it was sitting right on top of the soil. I didn’t have to dig anything which was a real bonus. It weighed a huge 0.08 gram.

I did get another good signal and after digging it out and it was still in a large lump of hard clay, I was really expecting it to be gold. Unfortunately it ended up being a piece of metal I have found a few times over the years. It’s a silvery metal that, although it’s solid, it has a crystalline structure. Really weird.

Anyway, that was all I got but it was a great day to be out before the rain sets in.

Well done... was it close enough that you'd call it a sun baker or leaf shader? LOL... well done, you're floggin the hell out of that stock coil, nice to see.....

I haven't been out in at least 6 months so haven't been posting much, too hot here at the moment and had some personal stuff to deal with but this week I took out the new Axiom and grabbed my first Axiom nugget... was good to get back into the swing of things.

Like the fancy new clothes (detector cover in link above), it's a @Doc Detecting cover, he just released them. Are you using a cover on your 7000 (link here: https://docsdetecting.com/product/3-pieces-cover-set-for-gpz7000-or-ctx3030/? He makes great covers and has dealers in Aus, I've had mine on my 7000 for almost 5 years.

G'day Jen. It's good to hear you're back and getting some gold. I was worried something might have happened given the tragedy in Maui. We were there in 2019, so sad to see what has become of it now.

Yes I have the covers on my detector. Originally I wrapped the main box under the arm in carpet but thought I would splurge out on a proper cover about 2018. I'm not particularly fond of the display cover as it makes it difficult to see.

It is starting to warm up here and cool down where you are. I hope you can find some good gold with the Axiom.

As for the Python. I had another main spring made up and put it in the revolver last week. For our Centrefire competition we have to have a trigger weight of 1000 grams minimum. The made up spring couldn't even pick up 500grams so it is off for some more tempering. Hopefully that will do but I think I will just have to put up with the heavy spring.

Good luck with the prospecting and cooler weather.

Regards Axtyr.

Thanks babe... appreciate the kind words, thank you for continuing to add content to the forum, I really appreciate it. Apparently it's going to take a while for people to join and contribute and that's ok.... all I wanted by creating it was to have a forum I don't get banned from.. LOL.... I've been dealing with some work issues as well that have left me not wanting to do computer stuff after hours but I'm going to make a serious effort to get back out there detecting now and that'll mean more content on the forum hopefully. I'm loving this Axiom but I snuck the 7000 out today for a swing, with the new Nugget Finder elliptical and wow, I forgot how awesome the Zed is...

Let me know if you need to order a custom weight spring from over here in America and we can do that forwarding thing again....
